"Rosie has a long association with the Hessle Sinfonia, regularly helping our Bass section in our concert performances. It was therefore a real privilege to welcome her as piano soloist in Shostakovich Piano Concerto No.2.

During breaks in rehearsal Rosie engaged readily with orchestral members in discussing their joint passion for Shostakovich’s music and this concerto in particular.

Rosie worked very closely with our conductor, Claire, and the end result was (in the words of our resident concert reviewer) a truly magnificent performance.

The piano playing in the outer movements sparkled whilst the chemistry between Rosie and Claire created a slow movement brimming with emotion.

"Rosie supported me through finally achieving my Grade 8 piano with a merit. I'd tried it before during my degree in music, and again post degree and failed on both occasions. Whilst on maternity leave, I decided to work towards passing the exam and I found Rosie's details online. I stated that I really needed her to push me as I can be quite lazy with practice. Rosie did exactly that, in a nice way and in a way that made me want to practice. Her enthusiasm and talent for music helped me reinstate my enthusiasm for music once again, which I lost as I'd not played the piano for 10 years prior. Rosie's passion and talent for music is phenomenal. She leads by example and is such a fantastic inspiration with her talent. The time Rose commits to practicing, performing and teaching is immense!
